It's very odd that Konami released this free of charge
I'm going to town either way.

I went to my bed earlier, so I haven't gotten around to playing it yet.
How long is the game?

OK. I really hate the chase parts.

Played it and although the chase parts are a bit much the game is a solid Silent Hill game.
It really pulls from PT in a lot of ways and would stand on its own if it didn't take Konami years to get back into the gaming. The PT clones have watered the genre down.
The coattails of PT have little room left but this game is a HUGE step in the right direction for Konami.
I am still taken aback that it was free.
Since this is Silent hill game I an guessing it needs to added to the main game list.

First impressions, but overall I found it a refreshing take on things.
Some minute things I wasn't 100% on were the sound design didn't stand out to me, the protagonist's voice acting kinda bothered me a little (reminded me too much of the likes of Max from Life is Strange), I can't help but feel like the game would have been more interesting to explore if it were 3rd person like the original games (but I begrudgingly accept that I'm behind the times there), and like stated earlier I wasn't a fan of the chase portions.
The voice acting, for the most part, I found conveyed a charming uncanny-ness that could only come from something like a dubbed anime. As much as I hate to say it, the Japanese take on a western setting really does feel nice to see back again in the series.
Disclaimer: I don't have a PS5 and therefore have not actually played the game, only watched.

In here is a tragedy, art thou player or audience?
Be as it may, the end doth remain:
all go on only toward death.
...
There is nothing which cannot become a puppet of fate
or an onlooker, peering into the cage.

Yesterday, I happened to notice that you cannot start a new game while a current game is in progress. I kind of find that is silly.
I discovered in the apartment (with the closet and rubbish bags) some bottles of booze with similar names to famous branded ones. They obviously cannot use the real ones for copyright reasons, but I seen "Smileoff Ice" on the counter. Ha-ha.

After a couple of playthroughs, it seems like this game suffers form a lack of subtly.
It feel like SHSM with the warnings and chase sequences.
