I think they made it like P.T. as a kind of 'apology offering' for never releasing Hideo Kojima's game.

I'm not a fan of horror games with no combat, but in the case of Anita, they chose an emphasis on drama over confrontation. And I did find the story good for what it provides. But I know that with each new game, they'll probably never recapture what Team Silent made. It's just never gonna happen.

In fact, RE is kind of crap now too. I hate the new storylines with vampires and the blue Umbrella garbage that will probably never be concluded anyway.

The plot just never makes sense. I also kind of hate that they keep doing remakes. They may be good to play for some people, but I think Capcom has the year 1998 so far up their assholes by now, it has went to their heads.

Seriously, though. I really don't think we need to know hundreds of times about why the government blew up Raccoon City. So why they keep revisiting this time period just to milk it, I'll never know.

^Revisiting RE means they can relive past glory and not have to write whole new games!

The current games market does NOT usually reward creativity and innovation. At least, it doesn't want to finance those things. They want to play it safe with things that already worked for them.

I watched playthroughs of the short message, I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other on it. It doesn't make me want to buy a ps5 or anything.

Over two million downloads! I did try and watch a play through. But when it got to a section where they were about to slash their wrists I watched something else!

Well your mileage may vary etc. If The Short Message comforts and makes people feel less alone in the world. Then I'm glad it's released. Very happy with the two million downloads. Very happy Silent Hill is returning to public and gaming consciousness. But... Maybe I'm too old and upbeat in the face of IRL destitution for Silent Hill!

Don't buy the guide book on Amazon from Scott Connolly. I assumed it was a walkthrough. It is nothing of the sort.
