Enhanced Edition

[Otherworld]

After watching a recent LP of this version, I saw things I have never seen before. The quality of the game in regards to the graphics and the detail of the inventory items is uncanny.

I have own this title on PS2. Man would I love to play this version. It's beautiful.

I watch their status-report videos once in a while. I think they're looking for an audio programmer to resolve an issue with sound taking up 100% of the CPU. Silent Hill 2 PC was built for single-core and has no idea that other cores are available. So, when you get into an area dense with background music and sound effects, the game starts to stutter even though other cores are available.

The "Enhanced Edition" team seems to have focused on the graphics side mostly as that's where most of the resource and knowledge are. It's good to see that they're looking into audio. The HD Collection had many problems, but audio was one of the bigger ones.

I have seen the game crash because of the that audio issue. It's great to see them address it.

They are also building 3d models of all the areas as well.

I really wish Konami would help out here and port this version to other platforms.

In the sense of nothing much they do ever makes any sense to regular people.
