Survival horror games are supposed to be played alone, in the dark, your duvet being used as a shield, and nobody else present in the room. Damn it.
This is about as stupid as the reason Capcom made RE8 less horrific. Because people seemingly hated RE7 for bringing back the horror appeal, which apparently scared the wits out of them. Yet what's dumb about that statement is that there was so many gamers who whined about RE4, etc, having too much of a focus on guns. But even when Capcom provided those people with what they wanted, they damage controlled for their own franchise.
So I mean, who are they catering this genre to nowadays? The Fortnite crowd?
It's so, so stupid.
