The second movie is based on SH3. So since SH2 didn't get a movie, I guess this is okay.
Why not?

Re: Why not?
I'm going to have to watch the film's again, because SH2 imagery got used in both or one them.
The big thing I'm expecting in both this new film AND Remake, is it'll destroy the twist of Silent Hill 2 you experience in the game. And destroy it once and for all. Knowing this fandom, even if the film subverts the expectation from the storyline (Hope it does! What's the point of making a film?) enough people will complain it didn't follow the story.
Bet you they don't include that sodding locked box in the hospital!

I thought the 1st movie was done well. Probably the best game-to-movie adaptation made so far. I know that is not saying much.
I am ok with Gans being a little loose with the story. I mean, how can you possibly fit multiple hours of gameplay into a 2-hour movie.
Gans needs to pay homage to this masterpiece of storytelling. If he does that it will be fine.

I'm going to town either way.

The cinematic experience is that it happens, 1. 3. 2.
The games go 1, 2, 3. At least, if you go by their release order.
But other than that, hmmm. I don't think it matters as they're not really always connected anyway.
