Yes please, hell, I'll settle for him being barred from holding government office. I dread the thought of another Trump v Biden in 2024.

But that is what you are probably going to get. Biden vs Trump.

The scary part is that by no means is Trump out of the race. The powder keg that would be Donald Trump as President again with all the pending legal cases would be unimaginable.
I'm going to town either way.

Sadly, you're probably right. If found guilty regarding the mishandling of classified documents he could be, but given how the judicial system works, he could be voted in by the time anything is done, and finding reliable jurors is probably gonna be a nightmare.

Some comments from Knowyourmeme (aka: my most reliable current events site. Lord help us):
I really hope they nail Trump to the fucking wall. He's a criminal scumbag with blood on his hands. The Jan. 6 insurrection only happened because he's the worst sore loser in American history since the Confederates. He believes that being a loser is the worst thing a person can be. He was already ranting about this bullshit in 2016, claiming without evidence that Hillary cheated. Why? Because he lost the popular vote. Even though he won the election (fucking POS Electoral College), it still wasn't good enough. Even something as penny-ante as the turnout at his inauguration being lower than at Obama's stuck in his craw.

His inability to "take the L" resulted in him inventing all sorts of ludicrous conspiracy theories to convince his followers that he's the victim of some "Deep State" plot. And not only did he engage in an actual, literal criminal conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election, on January 6, 2021, he got thousands of his followers to assemble and storm the Capitol. People are FUCKING DEAD dead because he refused to accept the results of the election. Democracy in America was placed in serious jeopardy because of him, and as long as he's free that threat still exists.

Honestly, I don't know what's worse. The fact that someone like him was able to become President, or the fact that there's millions of Americans who actually support him. This is the kind of personality cult you used to only see in third-world dictatorships.
Imagine saying you won't recognize the election unless you win
Imagine losing and then claiming, without evidence, that votes were made up.
Imagine DEMANDING from election managers to "find more votes no matter how"
Imagine having your aides ADMIT it was made up via oath in court
Imagine calling states and DEMANDING they sent unelected people to the confirmation to ignore the result of the election and vote for you instead (having no legal mandate because they were never voted for)

And now his still existing followers claim that the charges against him are fictitious. Because the truth doesn't matter. What matters is that "their guy" wins.

Prior to 2020, this is shit you'd expect from an African shithole. Trump made it mainstream for the industrialized world. And you are now "woke" or a "sheeple" for seeing the African Warlord tier powergrab for what it is.

Colorado makes Trump ineligible for President due to the insurrection shock!
The Republicans were warned years ago if they gave the job to Trump. He'd make it all about him. He'd damage the party. Etc. Who possibly saw this coming? Yeah...
See how it goes. The real done thing is when you lose you piss off and go on the After Dinner Speaker bullshit.
Well normal politicians do anyway.

This will head to the Supreme court, and with the way the GOP has stacked that court it will probably be turned over......

"States' rights" my ass...

The current political landscape really reminds me of all the Vh1 dating competitions I used to watch during the Dubya years, just with much more harrowing ramifications.

SECOND state bars Trump from the vote!
America is made up of different states blah blah yes. But... If a second one goes "Yeah... No." then that's the cue to bow out, surely?
Is it too early to imagine a parody of the ending of Casino? The whole "House of the Rising Sun" playing as people get whacked?
Give him a hot dose or even blow up his car and you'll see him flying across the opening credits still saying he's a great President!
(Yes I know this is late for me. I did go to bed but can't sleep. So just going online for a bit. I know I'm going to crash out tomorrow. Chalk it to a rippling in the force)
